The Objective:
As the Philadelphia connector, I was given a year to complete this product launch for Airbnb Experiences. I was fundamentally tasked with the success of product development and talent acquisition within the local market. My role involved spearheading the conceptualization and launch of innovative tourist experiences, ensuring they captured the unique essence and best offerings of the city. I executed the comprehensive talent lifecycle, which included identifying and persuasively engaging specialized hosts, meticulously managing the recruitment pipeline, and presenting candidates for final internal approval.
This strategic work—for which I was recognized as the highest-performing individual in the United States—was critical in building the foundational inventory for the region. Following this recognition, I was then promoted to run the East Coast team, where I managed connectors across major markets including Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, and the Catskills.
The Approach:
My approach to building the Airbnb Experiences inventory was a hyper-localized, quality-first strategy rooted in cultural immersion to define Philadelphia's authentic and unique product verticals. Personally spearheading a highly targeted talent acquisition model to identify and vet specialized individuals capable of delivering world-class experiences. The proven success of this methodology primarily moved me to aid the Miami team in recruitment, and then led to my promotion.
As the East Coast Team Lead, my approach shifted to one of strategic leadership and replication, standardizing this high-bar product and talent playbook for consistent, measurable success across seven diverse, high-stakes markets from Boston down to Miami.
